Fiji 2025

Vanua Levu, Fiji Islands – September/October 2025

In 2025, PICCSI is proud to be working closely alongside the Fiji Islands Ministry of Health as they embark on their pilot program to screen and treat women for HPV and cervical cancer.

This collaboration represents a major milestone in the fight against cervical cancer in the Pacific region. By offering same-day, point-of-care testing and treatment, the program aims to ensure that more women receive timely care without the typical delays that can occur between diagnosis and treatment.

This pilot, based in Vanua Levu, builds on years of groundwork by PICCSI, demonstrating that this practical and effective model can be successfully implemented in the Pacific setting.

Together, PICCSI and the Ministry of Health are setting the stage for a healthier future for women across Fiji and ultimately the wider Pacific Islands, with the hope that this approach will be adopted by other nations to help eradicate cervical cancer regionally.
