COVID 19 infection has the potential to cause short term morbidity, severe disease, long term disability and death. Minimising the effect of COVID 19 infection to all participants, as well as the wider community in Fiji is a priority of the PICCSI Project.
PICCSI aims to minimise the spread of COVID 19 during its activities to protect both local participants and PICCSI Project volunteers.
PICCSI Project organisers appreciate the limitations of resources and space in health care facilities in Fiji, and will aim to work together with local clinicians to achieve the best possible protection for Fijian participants and staff. It is recognised that compromises to the COVID Safe Plan may need to be made at times.
The PICCSI Covid Safe Plan document can be found here.
